Get ready for a Really Very Big 2025, Dear Reader. Dork‘s iconic Hype List Tour is back-Back-and-indeed-BACK(!!!), and it’s set to be louder and wilder than ever. Headlined by electric upstarts Welly, tickets drop at 10am on Wednesday, 13th November.
Since our launch back in 2016, Dork has become the ultimate hype machine for buzzy new music, tossing ‘the rules’ out the window in favour of pure, unfiltered excitement and talent. For those not in the know, the Hype List is Dork’s annual crystal ball, predicting the stars of tomorrow. Just look at The Last Dinner Party – they were on the 2023 Hype List before even dropping a single, and now? They’ve hit the stratosphere with their debut album ‘Prelude to Ecstasy’, smashing records like nobody’s business. They’re following the path of previous Hype List legends like Wet Leg, Declan McKenna, Billie Eilish, and Rina Sawayama, who soon went from bubbling under to breaking through.
Leading the charge this year are Welly, the South Coast’s finest, who are remixing the game with their punchy brew of bratty punk and indie charm. The first name we’re revealing for the 2025 edition of the Hype List, they’re one of the most chaotic (and therefore brilliant) new acts in ages. With singles like ‘Shopping’ and ‘Soak Up The Culture’, they’re blending smart, sharp British pop with grassroots edge and irrepressible charisma.
The adventure kicks off at Bristol’s The Louisiana on 1st February and zigzags through Leeds’ Oporto (6th), Newcastle’s The Grove (7th) and Manchester’s Deaf Institute Lodge (8th). The road trip winds down with stops at Glasgow’s McChullis (9th), Southampton’s Heartbreakers (13th), and wraps up at Nottingham’s Bodega (15th).
We’re not done yet, either. December’s got a surprise up its sleeve with a lineup reveal of more jaw-dropping performers and special guests. The first port of our massive 100th issue celebrations that will run throughout 2025 (more on those ‘in due course’), the Hype List Tour promises to deliver Dork’s signature mix of new music finds and unforgettable live shows, sticking to our tradition of shining a light on tomorrow’s headliners, today. We’ll see you there.
