Aziya has unveiled her new mixtape ‘BAMBI’, accompanied by a video for its title-track.
The 10-track project features six full-length songs and four interludes – ‘love you, bye’, ‘lose my light’, ‘bambi summit’ and ‘santi said’, with the latter featuring Santigold, who has mentored Aziya throughout the project.
“BAMBI is a mixtape I made in order to finally accept and protect my vulnerable side. I feel like vulnerability can a lot of the time be seen as weak like prey or like a lil ‘bambi’ but really, I found through making this mixtape its your biggest secret weapon,” Aziya explains.
“Loads of people I care about are featured on this mixtape – from my brother and sister to my bestfriends to Santigold, the conversations I was having revealed to me that we all know what its like to feel like ‘bambi’ but we’re all learning how to embrace that and protect it so no one can try and take the piss.
“I want this mixtape to be a project that allows you to take back ownership of your weaknesses and turn them into strengths and traits you’re proud of and I want it all to be soundtracked to this mixtape.”
