Lauren Spencer Smith has shared a new single called ‘small’ via Island/Republic Records.
The track marks her first release since her 2023 debut album ‘Mirror’, and sees her addressing themes of body image and self-acceptance.
“‘small’ is definitely one of the most personal songs I’ve ever written,” she explains. “It’s about anyone who’s felt the need to be a smaller version of themself to fit in society, whether it’s body image or being quiet in a crowded room. It’s an issue that isn’t always talked about, so my hopes are that this song can help break that barrier.”
The British Columbia-based artist’s debut album ‘Mirror’ was released last year and featured the singles ‘Fingers Crossed’ and ‘Flowers’, as well as ‘Fantasy’, a collaboration with GAYLE and Em Beihold.
