Danny Elfman and Emma Bunton are set to perform ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ live in concert at London’s OVO Arena Wembley on 12th December 2024.
The unique live-to-film concert event will feature Elfman performing his original role as Jack Skellington alongside Bunton, who joins as Sally. The BBC Concert Orchestra will accompany the performers as they sing live in sync with a screening of Tim Burton’s animated classic.
“It’s impossible to believe it has been thirty years since Tim Burton made our strange little musical,” says Elfman. “What a tremendous thrill it is to perform it live in concert again at London OVO Arena, Wembley.”
First released in 1993, ‘The Nightmare Before Christmas’ was directed by Henry Selick and based on a story and characters by Tim Burton. The film follows Jack Skellington, Halloween Town’s Pumpkin King, as he attempts to take over the Christmas holiday, enlisting three trick-or-treaters to help him kidnap Santa Claus against the advice of Sally, a rag doll who has feelings for him.
The production has previously performed at venues including the Hollywood Bowl, Barclays Center, Tokyo International Forum, and London’s OVO Arena Wembley in 2019 and 2022.
