Sunday (1994) are the special guests on tonight’s edition of Down With Boring

Down With Boring – Dork’s sonic sanctuary of chaos and contemplation – returns tonight (28th October) with enough musical muscle to power a small indie disco (or at least your Monday evening existential crisis).

Sunday (1994) are our special guests – a band who’ve mastered the art of making any emotion sound impossibly beautiful. Their debut EP sits somewhere between a Mazzy Star dream sequence and that film you caught at 3am that changed your life – all hazy romance and perfectly framed heartbreak, turning cinematic aspirations into songs that feel like memories you never knew you had.

Meanwhile, we’re dissecting Amyl & The Sniffers’ ‘Cartoon Darkness’ like enthusiastic punk rock pathologists. Amy Taylor and co. have packed more raw energy into the record than a case of banned energy drinks, tackling everything from ecological doom to rebellion that snaps back harder than yesterday’s bubblegum.

Plus, there’s all the usual new music. Tyler, The Creator brings the weird and wonderful (and a word we’re becoming a little too fond of repeating), Lady Gaga reminds us why she’s pop’s most committed method actor, and a who’s who of indie’s finest – Declan McKenna, Overpass, Hotwax, and Do Nothing – all check in with fresh material.

You can catch this week’s Down With Boring on Dork Radio, tonight at 8pm GMT. If you miss it, don’t worry – you’ll be able to download the new edition of Down With Boring via all the usual podcast providers, including Apple PodcastsSpotify and more.
