flipturn highlight toxic positivity with their new single, ‘Juno’

flipturn have released a new single, ‘Juno’.

It’s a track from the US indie-rock band’s recently-announced second album ‘Burnout Days’, set for release on 24th January via Dualtone Records, and was born during a songwriting retreat when guitarist and synth player Mitch Fountain accidentally dropped his Juno (JU-06A) synthesiser, creating a sound that would become the song’s opening riff.

“Our van Pegasus, ‘Peggy’ for short, really became the closest thing to home we had when touring,” they explain. “A lot of our family and friends for years would assume that the rockstar lifestyle was how they saw it in movies or pop culture but in reality it is a much different experience. It truly is an insane thing to do and you kinda have to be a little delusional to do it. Juno also is meant to highlight the toxic positivity that I think we’ve all experienced when we feel like we need to tell our friends and family ‘we’re living the dream’ when we are still very much chasing the dream.”
