Alessi Rose has announced details of her new EP, ‘For Your Validation’.
The record is set for release on 17th January via AWAL, with the new arriving alongside the London-based, Derby-born up-and-comer’s new single and video ‘imsochillandcool’.
Speaking about the EP, Alessi Rose says: “My ep ‘for your validation’ is dedicated to the many feelings i have developed growing up, through seeking security and reassurance in all aspects of my life, whether it’s as an artist and role model or as a friend or a daughter or even just a normal human. the songs on this ep reflect the many different times i’ve felt insecure and sought someone else to validate that i am normal and okay and everything is going as planned, which tends to be a common occurrence with my ocd. i like the fact that through assembling the ep i’ve realised that validation isn’t necessarily a desperate word, it just stems from a desire to belong somewhere, with someone, doing something, which i think is such a shared experience.”
The new single ‘imsochillandcool’, co-written with Pura Bliss and produced by Couros, arrives with a video directed by Phoebe Lettice Thompson. Of the track, Alessi says, “imsochillandcool was written as this self-aware ode to the feeling when somebody you previously were involved with moves on, and you feel all sorts of conflicting, potentially unfair feelings towards them that we all feel but don’t want to admit. it was started in my bedroom at 2am after i saw something i didn’t want to and i was so mad that it just kinda fell out, and i think you can feel that in the anxious energy of the song which is why i love it.”
