The National have shared ‘NTL RM EP II’, a new four-track preview EP.
The release features ‘Smoke Detector’, ‘Fake Empire’, ‘Mr. November’, and ‘Terrible Love’ from their forthcoming live album ‘Rome’.
The 21-track live album, set for release on 13th December via 4AD, was recorded at Cavea of the Auditorium Parco della Musica Ennio Morricone on 3rd June 2024.
The new effort follows the band’s previous EP ‘NTL RM EP I’, which featured ‘I Need My Girl’, ‘Lemonworld’, ‘The Geese of Beverly Road’ and ‘Lit Up’. The full album was mixed by Peter Katis and captures performances spanning the band’s catalogue, including tracks like ‘Bloodbuzz Ohio’, ‘Don’t Swallow the Cap’, ‘The System Only Dreams in Total Darkness’, and ‘England’.
To mark the release, 4AD are collecting fan-submitted videos, photos and written memories celebrating twenty-five years of The National’s live performances. These will be compiled into a YouTube watchalong experience of the new album, with submissions open until 22nd November.
