Sophie Ellis-Bextor has released her new single ‘Freedom of the Night’

Sophie Ellis-Bextor has released a new single titled ‘Freedom of the Night’ via Decca Records.

The track marks a return to Ellis-Bextor’s signature disco-pop sound, and sees the singer reunited with Biff Stannard and Shura, while also working with Chris Greatti and David Wrench on the production.

Ellis-Bextor comments on the new release, saying, “I have always been someone that needs music to help me recalibrate and “Freedom of the Night” is all about that feeling. Music as a form of release and a little bit of hedonism. I’ve always needed that energy in my life, and I know I’m not alone. As the song says, sometimes you need to give in to what you want.”

The single follows Ellis-Bextor’s recent success with her 2001 hit ‘Murder on the Dancefloor’, which experienced a resurgence after featuring in the film Saltburn. The track re-entered the UK Singles Chart at Number 2 and reached Number 58 on the Billboard Top 100.
