Wallice has shared a new single, ‘Gut Punch Love’.
It’s the latest cut from her upcoming debut album ‘The Jester’, set for release on 15th November via Dirty Hit.
The track draws inspiration from a tragic event in Wallice’s family history. In the 1980s, her mother’s fiancé disappeared while in Japan. After two years of searching, it was revealed he had been killed in Yakuza-related violence.
“You can’t necessarily hear the amount of tragedy in the song, because it feels like an alternative-rock song,” Wallice explains. “But it is tragic, and I think it’s an important story.”
‘Gut Punch Love’ follows the release of two previous singles, ‘Heaven Has To Happen’ and ‘The Opener’.
The full tracklist for ‘The Jester’ includes:
