Tommy Lefroy have announced their new EP ‘born blue’.
Set for release on 25th October via LAB Records, the duo -consisting of Wynter Bethel and Tessa Mouzourakis – have also shared a new single ‘Let Me’.
The EP title, as explained by the band, is derived from their track ‘You Exist’. They explain, “The title of our third EP, ‘born blue’, comes from the chorus of the track ‘You Exist’. We’re born blue // got used to it // til you came to keep me alive. For us the phrase embodied a kinship we find in each other, and others who tend toward being blue, who see, when you look very closely at most things, there is sadness and beauty, each highlighting the intricacies of the other.”
Discussing their new single ‘Let Me’, Tommy Lefroy add: “Let Me is about finding release when closure isn’t an option. It’s a note to self, in frustration, for holding on to too much, for too long. But woven into that frustration is graciousness, in coming to terms with the reality that people closest to us can hurt us the most, and it’s possible to keep them close without holding that hurt against them.”
The EP announcement coincides with the start of Tommy Lefroy’s UK and European headline tour.
