Primal Scream have released a new song titled ‘Deep Dark Waters’.
The track is taken from their upcoming album ‘Come Ahead’, due out on 8th November via BMG. The track marks the band’s first new studio music in eight years.
Speaking about the song, Bobby Gillespie says: “Deep Dark Waters is influenced by the writings of Franco ‘Bifo’ Berardi. It contains a warning from history. “Those who do not learn from the past are condemned to repeat it”.”
The accompanying music video was directed by Douglas Hart, a longtime collaborator of the band since 1991.
‘Come Ahead’ is Primal Scream’s 12th full-length record and follows 2016’s ‘Chaosmosis’. The album artwork features a photograph of Gillespie’s late father, Robert Gillespie Senior, taken by artist Jim Lambie.
Gillespie comments on the album’s themes, saying: “There is a message of hope in the record, but it’s tempered with an acceptance of the worst side of human nature.”
