The Hard Quartet have announced their eponymous debut album.
The band, comprising Emmett Kelly, Stephen Malkmus, Matt Sweeney, and Jim White, will launch the release on 4th October via Matador Records. They have also shared a new single and video, ‘Rio’s Song’.
Directed by Jared Sherbert, the video for ‘Rio’s Song’ was shot earlier this summer in New York City.
The band explain: “The “Rio’s Song” video is The Hard Quartet’s homage to street rock in the hot afternoon & clowning around with lifer friends in downtown New York City. Director Jared Sherbert shot it guerrilla-style on St Mark’s Place and in The International Bar on July 15 2024. It features local NYC artists, musicians, activists, skaters and icons who are dear to the band.”
The Hard Quartet will play their debut shows in October, with dates scheduled in Los Angeles, New York, and London. The band plan to tour extensively in 2025.
