Our Girl have released the title-track from their upcoming album.
Their new record ‘The Good Kind’ is set for release on 8th November via Bella Union, and has already been teased by ‘Something About Me Being a Woman’ and ‘Relief’.
Commenting on the track, singer/guitarist Soph Nathan says: “I have particularly vivid memories; acid images that seem forgotten but are suddenly triggered by a smell or taste or sound – the Proust effect! Normally it’s caused by something that’s harder to grasp, but I wrote this song about a time Ella Fitzgerald came on the radio and it took me back to how I was feeling the first time I heard it.”
The album explores themes of sexuality, relationships, community, and illness, and was produced by John Parish, Fern Ford, and the band’s own Soph Nathan. It features collaborations including Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa, Marika Hackman and Art School Girlfriend.
Following recent sold-out shows at The Lexington and Omeara, Our Girl have announced an extensive UK tour for late 2024 and early 2025, including their largest headline show to date at London’s Village Underground in February 2025.
