Ruel has dropped his ‘Adaptations’ EP, featuring covers of The Weeknd, Miley Cyrus and more

Australian singer-songwriter Ruel has released ‘Adaptations’, a covers EP.

The five-track EP, produced by M-Phazes, includes covers of Tobias Jesso Jr.’s ‘Hollywood’, The Weeknd’s ‘Call Out My Name’, Sixpence None the Richer’s ‘Kiss Me’, Imogen Heap’s ‘Hide & Seek’, and Miley Cyrus’ ‘Malibu’.

Ruel shares his thoughts on the project, saying, “When the idea of an EP floated around, I immediately made a playlist of hundreds of songs that were either underrated gems or my fav hits and then paired up with [producer] M-Phazes to bring them to life.”

Alongside the EP release, Ruel has unveiled a visualiser for ‘Hollywood’, directed by Bailen Estrada. The film-shot video explores themes of burnout among Hollywood hopefuls.
