MICHELLE have unveiled their new single ‘Mentos and Coke’.
It’s the latest track from their forthcoming album ‘Songs About You Specifically’, set for release on 27th September via Transgressive.
The New York-based collective drew inspiration for their new album from a stay in Ojai, California, where they rented a house surrounded by nature. This environment fostered a sense of closeness and solitude that influenced their songwriting process.
Emma Lee of the band reflects on the experience, saying, “There are friends I’ve had for almost my whole life who I won’t know as intimately as I know members of this group. There isn’t really an opportunity for that in any other kind of relationship in your life.”
Julian Kaufman adds, “It’s so easy to write a generic love or breakup song. But many of these stories are true. We’re coming from a really honest place.”
The band have also announced a series of live dates, including support slots for Still Woozy and headline shows.
