Birds Flying Backwards have unveiled debut album ‘Lovebirds’, an ode to love in all its forms

London-based sextet Birds Flying Backwards have released their debut album ‘Lovebirds’.

The album, out via Real Love Recording Co., was mixed by Joe Wyatt at Abbey Road Studios and mastered by Timothy Stollenwork. It was recorded live over four days in early 2025.

Discussing the album, the band state, “Lovebirds is an ode to love in all its forms — romantic love, love for friends, familial love, heartbreak, and the process of learning to love yourself. Love feels more important than ever to us. Love, compassion and solidarity are powerful tools with which to oppose oppression, dehumanisation and a political elite intent on dividing us. Recorded entirely live over four days in early 2025, Lovebirds stands as a testament to the unifying power, enduring beauty and the profound but life-affirming sadness that love, in all its forms, inevitably brings.”

The band will promote ‘Lovebirds’ with a performance at the Berlin Folk Festival on 14th March, alongside Drugdealer and The Mystery Lights.

The dates read:
MARCH
14 Berlin Folk Festival, Berlin, Germany
APRIL
11 Ramblin’ Roots Revue, Bucks, UK
14 Old Blue Last, UK
