Maya Hawke has announced ‘Maitreya Corso’ and built a fantasy world of her own

Maya Hawke is set to release her fourth album ‘Maitreya Corso’ on 1st May through Mom + Pop.

This announcement coincides with the release of the first single from the album, ‘Devil You Know’, which Maya describes as “about trying to keep ambition and greed out of the creative process. This album generally is about learning to protect the precious from the poisonous. Protect creation from pride. Protect love from control. Protect collaboration from jealousy.”

The album marks a collaboration with Christian Lee Hutson, who also co-produced it alongside Jonathan Low, with contributions from Benjamin Lazar Davis. The project was recorded in various locations including Woodstock, New York, and features musicians such as guitarist Will Graefe, violinist Odessa Jorgensen, and drummer Michael Riddleberger.

‘Maitreya Corso’ follows 2024’s ‘Chaos Angel’ and presents a fantasy world with Maya Hawke’s character, a ‘magical misfit’ navigating the complexities of self-discovery.
