Odd Beholder has dropped her new protest song, ‘Internet Famous’

Swiss electro-wave artist Odd Beholder, the project of Daniela Weinmann, has unveiled her latest track ‘Internet Famous’.

A protest song critiquing digital monopolies and algorithmic control, it’s the second single from her upcoming fourth album ‘Honest Work’ following January’s ‘Like A Chore’.

Weinmann explains, “In the song, I position myself — as a small songwriter subject to Spotify’s market power — in solidarity with those working in server complexes or dispossessed by the infrastructure. I’m just a songwriter, no dynamiter. I try to give these issues a voice through art.”

She describes the album, due 22nd May, as “petty-bourgeois surrealism”, addressing themes of labour and platform capitalism, aiming to confront systems while retaining a sense of humanity.
