Overpass battle insomnia with their new single ‘Sandman’, from debut album ‘Elsewhere, Always’

Overpass have released ‘Sandman’, the latest single from their forthcoming debut album, ‘Elsewhere, Always’, due 5th June.

‘Sandman’ captures a sense of insomnia, vocalist and guitarist Max Newbold explains. “This song is about struggling to sleep, for some reason it’s always at night when you want to sleep that your mind becomes busy and the intrusive thoughts come creeping in.

“I wanted this song to have a bit of a ‘90s edge, ‘Black Star’ by Radiohead was a song that was in mind when writing this. I like the idea that the lyrics are still about escapism and the desire for complete immersion.”

‘Elsewhere, Always’ is a reflection on the pressures faced by twentysomethings in a competitive world, crafted during six weeks of sessions with producer Rich Turvey. The band consists of Max Newbold, Elliot Rawlings on guitar, India Armstrong on bass, and Jake Bishop on drums.

Overpass will also be performing at various festivals throughout the summer, leading up to their autumn headline tour.
