Cameron Picton has announced his debut album as My New Band Believe, with lead single ‘Numerology’ out now.
The self-titled album will arrive on 10th April via Rough Trade. It began as a fever dream, conceived while Picton was delirious in a Chinese hotel room battling illness. The phrase “My New Band Believe” came to him during this period, becoming both the project’s name and the album title.
The record is almost entirely acoustic, marking a departure from his work with Black Midi. It features collaborators including Kiran Leonard, Caius Williams, Steve Noble, and Andrew Cheetham.
“My New Band Believe works as a reintroduction and a fresh start,” Picton explained. “It serves as an open invitation that if a listener is willing to meet the music on its own terms, they’ll be rewarded for taking a flying leap into the dark.”
The tacklisting reads:
One Night
Target Practice
In the Blink of an Eye
Heart of Darkness
Love Story
Pearls
