Failure have announced their seventh studio album, ‘Location Lost’.
Set for release on 24th April via Failure Records, Arduous Records and Virgin Music Group, the record features a guest appearance from Hayley Williams on the track ‘The Rising Skyline’.
The band have also shared the lead single ‘The Air’s On Fire’, which comes with a video directed by Sean Stout. The track was inspired by frontman Ken Andrews’ experience undergoing surgery for a back injury.
“That song is directly about my surgery and waking up,” Andrews explains. “I basically coded. Everything was spinning. I kept saying, ‘Turn the air on. I’m fine — just take me home.’ I was definitely not fine.”
Speaking about the album, Andrews notes: “It’s very different. There are sounds and parts that really don’t have any precedence within the Failure world.”
The announcement follows Failure’s 2021 album ‘Wild Type Droid’. Last year, Hayley Williams joined Andrews to perform a cover of the band’s 1996 song ‘Daylight’ at the G*VE A F*CK LA benefit.
Failure will support the album with a North American tour beginning in April.
