Jacob Bugden has released his debut single ‘Mud’ as Green Flag, out now.
The track was written and recorded in Los Angeles on the first day of a trip last summer, alongside producer and longtime collaborator Devin Workman. It was recorded that same night at Rick Rubin’s Laurel Canyon mansion, with Sam Wilkes and Henry Kwapis joining the session.
“‘Mud’ is about taking big steps forward, trusting your intuition, and jumping two feet into the unknown,” Bugden said. “It’s about letting go of the past, staying true to the promises you make yourself, and finding commitment even in old memories.”
Bugden is best known as the lead guitarist in beabadoobee’s band, having co-written and produced across her albums ‘Beatopia’ and UK Number 1 ‘This Is How Tomorrow Moves’. He has also worked with The 1975 on ‘Being Funny In A Foreign Language’.
Green Flag will play his first live show tomorrow (18th February) at Lost in London.
