Lip Critic have announced their new album ‘Theft World’ with early single ‘Legs In A Snare’

Lip Critic have announced their forthcoming album ‘Theft World’, set for release on 1st May via Partisan Records.

Accompanying the announcement, they have released the lead single ‘Legs In A Snare’, described as a twisted love song that encapsulates themes of obsession and addiction.

The creation of ‘Theft World’ was inspired by an incident during a tour when frontman Bret Kaser discovered his identity had been stolen. The band encountered the young fan responsible, who believed their music contained hidden codes. This encounter led Lip Critic to craft an album informed by this fan’s imagined mythology, blending narrative and sound into a unique vision.

In discussing the album, the band stated, “Theft World is an ode to the power and pervasiveness of stealing. It’s about taking something ugly and using it to make something cute. It’s about eating an absurd world and falling in love with it as you digest.”

The tracklisting for ‘Theft World’ reads:

‘Two Lucks’
‘Jackpot’
‘Debt Forest’
‘Talon’
‘Charity Dinner’
‘Drumming With Izzy’
‘My Blush (Strength of the Critic)’
‘Shoplifting’
‘Legs In A Snare’
‘My Wife And The Goblin’
‘Yard Sale (230 Take)’
‘200 Bottles Of Eviction’
