Holly Humberstone has announced her forthcoming second album, ‘Cruel World’.
The follow up to her debut album, ‘Paint My Bedroom Black’, released in 2023, the record covers themes of romantic, platonic, and feminine love and will be released on 10th April.
Humberstone’s latest single, ‘To Love Somebody’, is accompanied by a video directed by Silken Weinberg, known for her work with Ethel Cain.
“In ‘To Love Somebody’ I wanted to capture that contradiction: to love somebody, is to hurt somebody and to lose somebody, well at least you got to love somebody. In order to feel extreme happiness, you have to know extreme sadness. That’s the tension of the record,” Humberstone explains.
