Hatchie airs her frustrations with new single ‘Only One Laughing’, from upcoming album ‘Liquorice’

Hatchie, the musical project of Australian artist Harriette Pilbeam, has released a new single ‘Only One Laughing’, ahead of her forthcoming album ‘Liquorice’, set for release on 7th November via Secretly Canadian.

Explaining the inspiration behind the song, Hatchie says, “I wrote ‘Only One Laughing’ to air my frustrations with the state of the world and the position I found myself in at the time (early 2023). I wanted a rollicking song that felt like you were struggling to keep up with me basically ranting about the lack of control I felt over my life.”

‘Only One Laughing’ follows the earlier release of ‘Lose It Again’. The accompanying music video, filmed at Melbourne’s iconic Luna Park, visually captures the spirit of the track.

The tracklisting for ‘Liquorice’ reads:

‘Anemoia’
‘Only One Laughing’
‘Liquorice’
‘Carousel’
‘Sage’
‘Someone Else’s News’
‘Wonder’
‘Lose It Again’
‘Anchor’
‘Part That Bleeds’
‘Stuck’
