Dodgy are back with their new single ‘Hello Beautiful’ and a UK tour

Dodgy have released their first new music in a decade with the single ‘Hello Beautiful’, marking a return for the Britpop pioneers.

The track is out today (26th September) through Flip Flop Records and heralds a new chapter for the band as they prepare for their upcoming sixth studio album of the same name, which will be their first since 2016’s ‘What Are We Fighting For’.

To commemorate the single’s release, Dodgy will host a launch event at Bacchus Wine Bar in Kingston upon Thames tonight, precisely 35 years after the original Dodgy Club night began at the same venue. This special occasion will see the band perform an intimate set, meet fans, and sign copies of the single.

Dodgy will also embark on a UK headlining tour starting 2nd October at The Liquid Room in Edinburgh, and they’ll join Black Grape for a series of shows later in the year, beginning on 28th November at Queen Margaret Union in Glasgow and concluding on 20th December at Manchester Academy.

Reflecting on the new single, frontman Nigel Clark said, “‘Hello Beautiful’ is more than just a song – it’s a message. After ten years away from recording together, we wanted to come back with something uplifting, something that would bring a smile and remind people why they fell in love with music in the first place.”

Drummer Mathew Priest added, “There’s a magic in Dodgy that’s never gone away, even if we haven’t been in the studio for a while. Going back to Kingston to launch this single is emotional for us – it’s where the whole thing started, and 35 years later we’re still together, still playing, still making records.”
