Gorillaz are set to release a new studio album, ‘The Mountain’, on 20th March via their own label KONG. The record’s first track, ‘The Happy Dictator’ (feat. Sparks), is out now.
‘’The Mountain’ marks Gorillaz’ ninth studio album. Produced by Gorillaz, James Ford, Samuel Egglenton and Remi Kabaka Jr., with Bizarrap producing ‘Orange County’, it was recorded at Studio 13 in London and Devon, across multiple locations in India including Mumbai, New Delhi, Rajasthan and Varanasi, and in Ashgabat, Damascus, Los Angeles, Miami and New York.
Contributors include Ajay Prasanna, Amaan & Ayaan Ali Bangash, Anoushka Shankar, Asha Bhosle, Asha Puthli, Bizarrap, Black Thought, Gruff Rhys, IDLES, Jalen Ngonda, Johnny Marr, Kara Jackson, Omar Souleyman, Paul Simonon, Sparks, Trueno and Yasiin Bey, alongside archival appearances from Bobby Womack, Dave Jolicoeur, Dennis Hopper, Mark E Smith, Proof and Tony Allen.
Performances span Arabic, English, Hindi, Spanish and Yoruba. Artwork by Jamie Hewlett documents Murdoc, Noodle, Russel and 2D’s time working in India, available as a book and a set of 12×12 prints.

The band have also confirmed The Mountain Tour, visiting arenas across the UK and Ireland in Spring 2026 with Trueno supporting on selected dates, and a one-off headline show at London’s Tottenham Hotspur Stadium with Sparks and Trueno. Ticket information is available at gorillaz.com.
