VILLANELLE have dropped their debut single ‘Hinge’ and confirmed a December underplay tour

VILLANELLE have shared their debut single ‘Hinge’ and confirmed details of an underplay headline tour in December.

The band – Gene Gallagher (vocals/guitar), Ben Taylor (guitar) and Jack Schiavo (bass) – are currently putting the finishing touches to their debut EP, influenced by the likes of Deftones, Smashing Pumpkins and My Bloody Valentine.

Gene says, “That’s my favourite sort of music, so there’s some of that in everything I write. ‘Hinge’ is about paranoia derived from sleepless nights. I was probably hungover when I wrote it.”

“‘Hinge’ is just simple and high energy,” adds Ben. “Anyone can play it, but no one can play it like us.”

VILLANELLE will mark the single’s release with the sold-out Jaguar Shoes show on 11th September. Tickets for the December tour go on general sale at 9am on 17th September.
