Soft Play are set to complete the headliner line-up for Rockaway Beach 2026 at Butlin’s Bognor Regis, joining Public Image Ltd and English Teacher for the three-day event from 2nd-5th January.
The duo’s confirmation follows recent sets at Reading & Leeds and the release of their album ‘HEAVY JELLY’ this summer. Also newly confirmed alongside Soft Play are Adult DVD, Coach Party, Home Counties, Stealing Sheep and Walt Disco. They join previously announced names including Dry Cleaning, Antony Szmierek, Idlewild, The Moonlandingz, Inspiral Carpets, and Insecure Men.
Dork is also heading over to do our Down With Boring podcast live and host a takeover in the REDS venue (Jamie has promised he’ll play less Cher this time). The opening night on 2nd January features a New-New Years Eve Party, with additional programming across the weekend including a David Bowie celebration party, Hilary Skank’s two-tone disco, a Day Rave, and Dom & John’s Closing Party, with more to be announced.
Rockaway founder Ian Crowther says, “There’s something genuinely exciting about having SOFT PLAY at Rockaway. Their return – which has been heavier, sharper, funnier, and more themselves than ever – is a reminder of what makes this kind of music matter. “HEAVY JELLY” is easily one of the most joyful and urgent records we’ve heard in years. They have no fear of doing things their own way. And that’s the energy we love. That’s the kind of band Rockaway was built for. We know they’re going to make a big impact alongside English Teacher, Public Image Ltd, and our whole live bill, that will help set a benchmark for the year ahead in 2026.”
All tickets are booked via Butlin’s and include three nights’ accommodation and access to Rockaway Beach, with packages available from £99 per person at rockawaybeach.co.uk.
