First-look rehearsal images have been released of Nicola Roberts as she prepares to join the West End production of Hadestown at the Lyric Theatre, London. She will play Persephone from 16th September 2025 until 18th January 2026.
Roberts appears alongside Desmonda Cathabel as Eurydice, Chris Jarman as Hades, Cedric Neal as Hermes, and Dylan Wood as Orpheus. Melanie Bright, Allie Daniel and Lauran Rae play the Fates; with Femi Akinfolarin, Michelle Andrews, Ollie Bingham, Laura Delany and Sebastian Lim-Seet as the Workers. Lucinda Buckley, Juan Jackson, Oisín Nolan-Power, Lindo Shinda and Jasmine Triadi are Swings.
Hadestown features music, lyrics and book by Anaïs Mitchell, developed from an indie theatre project and album into a full stage production with director Rachel Chavkin. The musical weaves the myths of Orpheus and Eurydice and of Hades and Persephone.
