Blessthefall – GALLOWS

Label: Rise Records
Released: 5th September 2025

Blessthefall bring back ten tracks of 00s nostalgia with their first album in seven years. Sticking steadfast to their metalcore roots, ‘GALLOWS’ unleashes an unrestrained energy, complete with signature angsty lyricism to deliver what the band describe as “some of the most disgustingly heavy parts” they have ever created.

‘mallxcore’ is an explosive opener that rattles the windows like a house caught in a thunderstorm, setting the stage for an adrenaline-pumping adventure. There is a satisfying mix of cleans and screams from Bokan and Warth here and throughout the record, the two fitting perfectly together like puzzle pieces.

‘Wake The Dead’ brings a red-hot urgency, with whirlwind riffs and dizzying drumbeats supporting guttural growls. Warth’s unclean vocals are nothing short of impressive and, at times, goosebump-worthy. With rapid-fire relentlessness and a brutal breakdown that will peel the skin clean back from your face, it is truly a standout track.

‘Drag Me Under’, featuring Australian quintet Alpha Wolf, is full of spitting rage and melodic vocal harmonies, with a chorus you will find yourself still humming days later. Meanwhile, ‘Light The Flame’ is more pop-skewed, featuring brighter guitar backing and clean vocals at the forefront, creating a singalong anthem.

‘GALLOWS’ remains firmly within the lines of the genre, and it flourishes within them. For fans itching for a metalcore fix, this record will satisfy the craving tenfold.
