Oliver Sim is back with his infatuated new single, ‘Obsession’

Oliver Sim has returned with new single ‘Obsession’, his first solo release since 2022, out now via Young.

Best known as one third of The xx, Sim recorded ‘Obsession’ between London and Los Angeles. The track was produced by Bullion and Taylor Skye, and premiered on BBC Radio 6 Music with Nick Grimshaw, where Sim joined live in the studio. Described as a tale of infatuation and lust, it marks his first solo release not produced by longtime collaborator and bandmate Jamie xx.

‘Obsession’ arrives with a music video directed by Sharna Osborne, featuring Sim alongside Erin O’Connor.

The xx are currently at work on their fourth album and recently reunited on stage at Jamie xx’s LIDO festival in London.
