Hayley Williams has shared a new video for ‘Glum’, co-directed with Paramore’s Zac Farro

Hayley Williams has released a new video for ‘Glum’, co-directed by her Paramore bandmate Zac Farro.

Shot entirely on film, the clip reflects the song’s existential themes, following Williams with bright yellow hair as she moves through an empty house, lies on hardwood floors, and wanders a hollow garden.

‘Glum’ is part of Williams’ recent 17-song surprise run, issued as standalone singles rather than a traditional album. It follows the video for ‘Ego Death At A Bachelorette Party’.

Williams has indicated she is exploring how the songs might sit together, writing on Instagram: “I have been at the creek listening to potential track-list orders and still trying to create my own.”

The releases mark Williams’ first new music since becoming an independent artist after her record deal with Warner/Atlantic ended. The tracks were initially previewed for a limited time on her website before arriving on streaming platforms as individual singles. The 17-song collection has been referred to as ‘Ego’.
