Taylor Swift has announced her 12th album ‘The Life of a Showgirl’, with pre-orders now live

Taylor Swift has announced her 12th studio album, ‘The Life of a Showgirl’, with pre-orders for vinyl, CD and cassette now available via her website.

The album’s artwork, tracklist and release date have not yet been revealed. Swift’s website notes that physical copies will ship before 13th October. She will promote ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ with an appearance on New Heights, the podcast hosted by Travis Kelce and Jason Kelce, on Wednesday, 13th August at 7:00 p.m. ET. A teaser clip released ahead of the episode shows Swift taking the album out of a briefcase and unveiling its cover, which is currently blurred.

Swift has form for surprise reveals. She announced 2024’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’ during her Grammy Awards acceptance speech for Best Pop Vocal Album, later confirming a tracklist featuring Post Malone and Florence + The Machine, while ‘Midnights’ was unveiled at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards, with its tracklist rolled out via TikTok.

‘The Life of a Showgirl’ follows ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, released in April 2024. It is her first album since wrapping up ‘The Eras Tour’, and her first release since regaining full control of the master recordings for her first six studio albums.
