Mae Muller has unveiled the video for her new single ‘Hello Kitty’, filmed on location in St Leonards-on-Sea and directed by Ben Cole. She will also play her first UK show in over 18 months at Oslo, London on 4th October.
The clip brings a surreal concept to life with choreography, bold styling and tongue-in-cheek storytelling, cutting between reality and perception. The track leans into hyper-femme confidence and playful contradiction, themes mirrored across the visual.
‘Hello Kitty’ is the second track on ‘My Island’, Mae’s independently released five-song EP and her first project following a 15‑month hiatus.
“This song is about owning your joy, your contradictions, and your power,” Mae says. “The video had to reflect that — it’s gritty, it’s fun, a bit chaotic in the best way. It’s about not taking yourself too seriously but still knowing exactly who you are.”
“I want people to feel the joy. Because that’s what this project was for me — rediscovering the joy again.”
