Oh deary me, Adam Buxton has shared his new single ‘Doing It Wrong’

Comedian Adam Buxton has released his new single ‘Doing It Wrong’, the second track to arrive from his debut album ‘Buckle Up’.

The single, produced by Metronomy’s Joe Mount, evolved from a theme originally created for one of Buxton’s Radio 4 shows. The track explores different perspectives on how people live their lives, with Buxton examining the concept that everyone believes they’re doing things correctly while others disagree.

Mount, who produced the majority of ‘Buckle Up’, says of the album: “I loved making this record with Adam and am very proud of my involvement in it. We chatted about artists like Ween, The Rutles, Eric Idle and Harry Nilsson whilst recording and I would often think to myself ‘what would a car full of teenagers enjoy hearing’. Hopefully we’ve made something a car full of teenagers will enjoy”.

Buxton adds: “I don’t actually consider this actual music. One of the album titles I considered was ‘Adjacent To Music’, because every single bit of music that I’ve listened to, in my mind, is better qualified to be considered music than this.”

‘Buckle Up’, set for release through Decca Records on 12th September, features fifteen tracks and includes collaborations with various musicians, including Mount, Pete Robertson, and Dan Hawkins

An album launch event is scheduled at London’s Rough Trade East on 17th September.
