The Dare has announced new EP ‘Freakquencies: Vol 1’, set for release on 22nd August via Polydor/Republic Records, alongside sharing new track ‘Tambourine’.
The four-track instrumental EP shares its name with Harrison Patrick Smith‘s New York party series, which has become a significant part of the city’s nightlife since beginning at Manhattan basement bar Home Sweet Home.
Recent events have expanded to include a 4,000-capacity New York boiler room show and venues across Brooklyn including Public Records, Elsewhere, Knockdown Center and 3 Dollar Bill, as well as debuts in Mexico City. The club nights have featured guest DJ appearances from Doss, Danny L Harle, Dylan Brady and Kelly Lee Owens.
The EP follows ‘What’s Wrong With New York?: Afters’, the deluxe version of The Dare’s debut album. That record featured the single ‘Girls’, which has accumulated 62 million Spotify streams, alongside tracks ‘Perfume’ and ‘Good Time’.
