Waterparks have shared their new single ‘Red Guitar’, marking their first release since signing with BMG.
The Houston trio, comprising Awsten Knight (vocals, guitar), Otto Wood (drums) and Geoff Wigington (guitar), are set to perform on the main stage at Reading & Leeds this August. The release follows their 2023 album ‘Intellectual Property’, which reached the Top 10 in both US and UK album charts.
“This is the first song back from the best band in the world, Waterparks,” says Knight. “After a year of trials and tribulations, we have arisen from the smoke, like Captain America — maybe Iron Man instead. I haven’t seen most of those movies. However Infinity War ended, probably. RIP Ant Man. This is the best song from a band in the last 10 years, ask anyone. Either this song or the next one will be our biggest one, again, ask anyone. RIP Iron Man. Stream the song until we make physicals and then go buy one of those. It’s a plaque attack, baby. I love you. God help us all. Thanks!”
The band’s most recent headline tour in 2024 included sold-out performances at The Palladium in Los Angeles and Terminal 5 in New York.
