Working Men’s Club’s Sydney Minsky Sargeant has released a new single, ‘Long Roads’

Sydney Minsky Sargeant has shared new single ‘Long Roads’, the second track to be taken from debut solo album ‘Lunga’, set for release on 12th September.

The Working Men’s Club member has been expanding his musical horizons, with ‘Lunga’ marking his first release under his own name. The album comprises 12 tracks written over several years, dating back to his teenage years in Todmorden, West Yorkshire. Minsky Sargeant co-produced the record alongside Alex Greaves, playing the majority of instruments himself.

“I don’t want to sound all hippy dippy, but this album helped me realise it’s ok to love and say that within a song because it’s a true and honest feeling and one that I’m not embarrassed to admit or accept,” Minsky Sargeant says of ‘Long Roads’. “But it’s also ok to say I got some stuff wrong and I’m no perfect person. I’m just living each day trying to make sense of the world around me.”

Minsky Sargeant has previously performed with Working Men’s Club at Glastonbury and on Later with Jools Holland, with the band recently supporting LCD Soundsystem during their Brixton Academy residency. For his solo live performances, he will be joined by Alex Greaves and Hannah Cobb.
