HotWax have released their new single ‘Tell Me Everything’s Alright’, accompanied by a video filmed in Brighton.
The track, which has already become a live favourite during their recent festival appearances, was premiered by Huw Stephens on BBC 6Music. It follows the March release of their debut album ‘Hot Shock’ via Marathon Artists.
The album was produced by Catherine Marks and Steph Marziano at London’s RAK Studios, with additional recording taking place with Warpaint’s Stella Mozgawa in Joshua Tree. The recording process aimed to capture the energy of their live performances, with Marks joining the project after witnessing the band at Third Man Records’ Blue Basement. “It was the sweatiest gig we have ever done – it was really, really packed,” says Tallulah. “Afterwards, Catherine came up to us and said, ‘Oh my god, I need to record your album with you. I want it to sound like the energy in this room. It needs to feel like a party.’”
The Hastings trio, comprising childhood friends Tallulah Sim-Savage and Lola Sam, who began writing together at age 12, later joined by drummer Alfie Sayers, have played over 200 live shows in the past 18 months. “Touring and constantly living in the moment can be chaotic. But there’s also a feeling of knowing that the more life experience we gain, the more fearless we become,” explains bassist Sam.
