Blood Orange has announced ‘Essex Honey’, his first new album in six years, set for release on 29th August via RCA Records.
The project, written, produced, and recorded by Dev Hynes, explores themes of grief and growing up in Essex, featuring an extensive list of collaborators including Lorde, Caroline Polachek, Daniel Caesar, Mustafa, and Turnstile’s Brendan Yates. The album also marks author Zadie Smith’s first recorded musical appearance, alongside contributions from Tirzah, The Durutti Column, Wet’s Kelly Zutrau, Ian Isiah, Eva Tolkin, actors Naomi Scott and Amandala Stenberg, and Liam Benzvi.
Two tracks from the album, ‘Mind Loaded’ and ‘Somewhere In Between’, have been released alongside the announcement.
