YUNGBLUD documentary ‘Are You Ready, Boy?’ will be coming to theaters in August

Yungblud has announced a new documentary film, ‘YUNGBLUD. ARE YOU READY, BOY?’, set for worldwide theatrical release on 20th and 24th August.

The feature-length documentary, directed by Paul Dugdale, was filmed at Berlin’s historic Hansa Studios, known for hosting the recording of albums including David Bowie’s ‘Heroes’ and U2’s ‘Achtung Baby!’. The film captures Yungblud and his band recording live performances of tracks from his latest album ‘Idols’, which was released in June 2025.

Shot in both black and white and colour, including 16mm film sequences, the two-hour documentary follows the artist during a significant period of his career, offering an intimate look at the creative process behind his third consecutive UK number one album.

“I wanted to make a film that truly documents where we are right now, at this moment, around the release of my most ambitious album to date. Berlin has always radiated complete, unfiltered truth. Every time I’ve visited Hansa Studios, it’s just f*cking iconic,” Yungblud says of the project.

“You can feel the history in Hansa; it’s in the silence between takes, the ceiling looming over you. You’re standing in the shadows of all these legends and asking yourself ‘who the f*ck am I? And what am I gonna leave behind?’”

Director Paul Dugdale reflects on the filming process: “When we made this film, it was in that special twilight zone between the record being finished and people hearing it for the first time. I always think of that moment before a release as such a unique time for an artist and it’s an extraordinary period to document because we can enter into it without any external noise or pre-conception. It allowed us to make something unaffected by the outside world, and there’s a really pleasing purity about that. We got to live in a moment with Dom, free of any external opinion and start a relationship from a totally blank canvas.”

The documentary will screen in 30 countries, including 150 UK cinemas. Tickets go on sale on 17th July.
