FINNEAS and Ashe have shared a romantic new single from The Favors, ‘The Hudson’

The Favors, comprising FINNEAS and Ashe, have shared their new single ‘The Hudson’, alongside announcing their debut album ‘The Dream’.

The accompanying music video, directed by Alex Lockett, features the duo by the river in both black-and-white and colour scenes.

“Part of the band identity involves these characters who are singing about an experience to each other,” FINNEAS explains. “It’s a musical theater design, and it rarely happens in pop. You can picture two individuals in an apartment overlooking The Hudson singing about the same thing.”

The pair, who previously collaborated on ‘Moral of the Story’ in 2019 and ‘Till Forever Falls Apart’ in 2021, recorded their upcoming album between Nashville and Los Angeles. The project draws inspiration from artists including The Mamas and the Papas, Carole King, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Simon and Garfunkel, and Fleetwood Mac.

“This is the way every artist dreams of making an album,” Ashe shares. “People don’t sing together anymore when they’re recording, but it was so romantic and fun.” FINNEAS adds, “It’s a true ‘long-play album’ in its real intended meaning. Hopefully, you can have friends over, cook a meal, and play this on vinyl front-to-back.” Ashe concludes, “I want you to feel simultaneously warm, fuzzy, and heartbroken at the same time.”

‘The Dream’ is set for release on 19th September via Darkroom Records.
