Blood Orange has released ‘The Field’, marking his first new song in three years.
The track, written and produced by Dev Hynes, features collaborations with The Durutti Column, Tariq Al-Sabir, Daniel Cesar, and regular Blood Orange contributors Caroline Polacheck and Eva Tolkin. Hynes has also directed an accompanying music video for the release.
The new single follows a busy period for Hynes, who has been performing classical compositions at venues across London, Sydney, and Toronto. He has also been involved in various collaborative projects, including opening fifteen shows for Harry Styles at Madison Square Garden and music directing Styles’ Grammy performance of ‘Watermelon Sugar’.
Recent years have seen Hynes expand his creative portfolio, scoring Paul Schrader’s Master Gardener and creating music for fashion house Marni. He has also contributed production to Lorde’s forthcoming album ‘Virgin’ and appears on Turnstile’s ‘Never Enough’.
