Citizen have announced a 10th anniversary edition of ‘Everybody Is Going To Heaven’

Citizen are set to release a 10th anniversary edition of their second album ‘Everybody Is Going To Heaven’ via Run For Cover Records on 27th June.

The expanded reissue features previously unreleased track ‘Nail In Your Hand’, alongside a reimagined version of ‘Heaviside’ by Wisp and various demos from the album’s recording sessions.

Originally released in 2015, ‘Everybody Is Going To Heaven’ marked a shift in direction for the band. “Everybody Is Going to Heaven was an interesting time in our lives,” guitarist Nick Hamm explains. “Youth had caught on in a way that we didn’t expect nor were we prepared for. I think our best bet at a follow-up was something that didn’t attempt to follow it up at all. It reflected our feelings and taste at the time and felt unlike anything else that was happening around us. Looking back, I don’t think anything, even Youth, has bought us the longevity that Everybody is Going to Heaven has. It positioned us as a band that would never release the same album twice and we’re thankful to have an audience that has ridden along with us for the last ten years.”

The anniversary edition features eighteen tracks, including the original album alongside bonus material. The band will mark the release with performances at Riot Fest and Furnace Fest, as well as a special album playthrough show in Detroit.

The full tracklist for ‘Everybody Is Going To Heaven 10 Year Anniversary Edition’ includes: ‘Cement’, ‘Dive Into My Sun’, ‘Numb Yourself’, ‘Heaviside’, ‘My Favorite Color’, ‘Weave Me (Into Yr Sin)’, ‘Stain’, ‘Ten’, ‘Yellow Love’, ‘Ring of Chain’, ‘Nail In Your Hand’, ‘Heaviside (Wisp Version)’, ‘Cement (Demo)’, ‘Dive Into My Sun (Demo)’, ‘Numb Yourself (Demo)’, ‘Heaviside (Demo)’, ‘My Favorite Color (Demo)’, and ‘Yellow Love (Demo)’.
