There’s tearing it up on stage, and then there’s swim school taking a joyride on a buggy around an old Soviet airfield minutes before their set.
Edinburgh’s finest made the most of their time at Rock for People in the Czech Republic last weekend, playing the Evropa 2 stage on Saturday 14th June as part of the festival’s bumper 30th anniversary edition.
Photographer Vojtěch Mervart caught the band in full throttle – setting up, careening backstage, and delivering a typically blistering set to a crowd that swelled as the sun beamed down on Park 360. Later, Pavla Hartmanová tagged in to capture them exploring the rest of the site: grabbing a spin on the ferris wheel, soaking in sets from Wunderhorse and Biffy Clyro, and vibing to Fontaines D.C. as the evening rolled on.
swim school’s debut self-titled album lands 3rd October, with a UK/EU tour to follow in November. Judging by the energy on display here, it’s going to be a loud one.
