Soccer Aid match-worn shirts from this year’s charity match at Old Trafford are now available for auction via MatchWornShirt.com, with proceeds supporting UNICEF.
Louis Tomlinson‘s shirt currently leads the bidding at £6,217, while Wayne Rooney‘s shirt, worn during his record-setting fastest goal in Soccer Aid history, stands at £1,578. Carlos Tevez, who scored four goals in World XI’s 5-4 victory over England, has also put his match-worn shirt up for auction.
The auction follows successful collaborations between MatchWornShirt and Soccer Aid in previous years, with last year’s event seeing Usain Bolt’s shirt sell for £8,067, Tom Hiddleston’s for £3,099, and Eden Hazard’s reaching £1,571.
Other notable items in the current auction include Big Zuu’s shirt, following his winning goal for World XI, as well as Dermot Kennedy and Tom Grennan’s shirts. The auction continues until 22nd June.
The partnership between Soccer Aid and MatchWornShirt sees all net proceeds from the auction donated to UNICEF and their relief efforts. The platform, which partners with over 300 global sports clubs, authenticates each shirt using Fabricks technology, providing buyers with a digital certificate of authenticity.
