Suffolk-based artist Caswell has released her new single ‘Final Call’ ahead of her debut album ‘Break/Bleed/Bloom’ arriving on 1st October.
The alternative-pop track combines downtempo electronica and dreampop elements with indie sensibilities, featuring lo-fi beats and modulated bass alongside synth textures.
“Final Call explores the concept of reincarnation and feeling a playful curiosity about death, which is something so often seen as negative and taboo in our culture,” Caswell explains. “Nature has always been an incredible way of helping me to feel present and there is beauty in knowing that we are connected to this ancient and cyclical network of life, and that one day when we will inevitably return to the earth that we are made from. Maybe death is simply a fallow period of rest, after which our energy lives on in the natural world in some new way.”
Caswell first gained wider recognition after winning a competition to support Ed Sheeran on his Divide tour. She also has a co-writing credit on Michael Schulte’s Top 10 German radio hit ‘All I Need’.
