Native Sun have shared their new single ‘Squash’ via TODO.
The NYC alt-rock outfit’s latest release serves as the second preview of their forthcoming debut album, following their spring single ‘I Need Nothing’. The track was produced and mixed by Jonathan Schenke and mastered by Joe LaPorta.
The band, consisting of Colombian-born Danny Gomez on vocals and guitar, Justin Barry on bass and vocals, Jack Hiltabidle on guitar, and Argentine-born Nicolas Espinosa on drums, have previously performed alongside acts including A Place To Bury Strangers, Bodega, Geese, Indigo de Souza and Nation of Language.
“‘Squash’ came to life after a night that bled into morning, wrapped in the quiet shame between the last stragglers of the night and the first workers of the day,” the band explain. “It’s that moment of reflection—sparked by sobering daylight, a kind of inner dialogue—when you start to question where your life’s been, what you’ve missed, and what still might be coming—just out of view, but hard to shake.”
